If you’re a student who is trying to land an internship, but you’re failing miserably, just know that you are not alone.  There is a high level of competition that exists in the job and internship world, so sometimes things get a little intense. Hopefully, by the end of this article you will feel ready to go out there and show employers your skills.

1.  Prepare for the interview

Take the interview seriously, and try looking up some questions online that a lot of employers usually ask. You could even try setting up mock interviews with your parents or friends so that you can get some extra practice in. Stay calm, be yourself, and showcase your talents.

2. Triple-check your resume

Your resume is an extremely important step in landing the perfect internship. Make sure that you get it looked over by a professional, or someone else in your major who already has a lot of experience in your field. If you are crafty, you can even build digital portfolios on websites to showcase your talents.

3. Always be on the look-out

Be aware of things happening around you on campus that may apply to your major.

4. Visit the career center

The career center on your campus is always a helpful tip when it comes to finding out places that are looking for interns. They help out with your resume and the interview process.

5. Kiss the laziness goodbye

You can’t expect to find an internship without extra motivation. Always try, and never give up.
